BPC-157
The peptide BPC-157 has a synthetic 15-amino-acid sequence from a human gastric juice protein[1]. GSRS lists Bepecin as a name for BPC-157[2] (names checked 2026-09-05). A 2025 review says it shows promise for soft tissue and bone repair[3]. One human report found full bladder-pain relief in 10 of 12 women at six weeks[4]. A second found knee-pain relief for more than six months in 7 of 12 longer-followed patients[5].
What is BPC-157?
Sikiric and co-authors published a 1993 Life Sciences paper on BPC 157 as a 15-amino-acid peptide[18]. PubMed lists the paper's address as University of Zagreb, Croatia[18]. This article's earliest cited human report is Lee and Padgett's 2021 knee-pain chart review[5].
Its sequence has 15 amino acids and traces to a human gastric juice protein[1]. GSRS lists the UNII 8ED8NXK95P, CAS 137525-51-0, and the names BEPECIN, PL-10, PL-14736, and PLD-116[2]. The NCT02637284 record uses PCO-02 and Bepecin for oral BPC-157[7].
The strongest positive summary is the 2025 review. It says BPC-157 shows promise for soft tissue and bone repair[3]. It links BPC-157 to growth hormone receptor expression, cell growth, blood-vessel paths, and lower inflammatory cytokines[3]. It found 35 animal or lab studies and 1 clinical study among 36 included studies[3].
Human reports are useful and still small. The bladder-pain pilot found complete symptom relief in 10 of 12 women after one treatment[4]. In knee-pain charts, 11 of 12 BPC-157-only patients reported significant improvement[5]. The two-person IV pilot measured short-term blood markers, side effects, and no effect endpoint[6].
The 2025 review found one clinical study in its included set[3]. A hamstring-strain trial has a control arm, but it is recruiting and has no posted results[12]. Reported human findings are separate from the controlled injury-repair trial that has not reported.

What do BPC-157 and TB-500 records show together?
BPC-157 and TB-500 are different records. GSRS lists BPC-157 with the UNII 8ED8NXK95P[2]. For TB-500, the United States FDA Category 2 table names thymosin beta-4 fragment LKKTETQ[8].
The knee-pain chart review includes 4 patients who used BPC-157 plus thymosin beta-4[5]. It says 3 of those 4 combination patients reported significant improvement[5]. That report does not test TB-500 as named by the United States FDA record[5].

What has direct vial or product testing found?
